We will remind you — that's not optional
ICANN requires registrars to send renewal reminders, and we send them: roughly two months, one month, a week and a day before expiry, plus a notice after expiry. These are compliance notices, so they cannot be turned off in your email preferences, and every one is recorded in your account's notification history. If you ever need to prove what we sent and when, it is right there.
The lifecycle

| Active | Until the expiry date | Everything works. Auto-renew (on by default) renews at the price shown on your domain page — the same price we showed you when you bought it. |
| Expired / renewal grace | Roughly 30–40 days after expiry (varies by TLD) | The domain stops resolving — websites and email go down. You can still renew at the normal renewal price during this window. We email you when this starts. |
| Redemption | Roughly 30 days after grace ends | The registry will only restore the domain for a restore fee, which is much higher than a renewal. We collect that fee before submitting the restore, and it is non-refundable once submitted. |
| Pending delete | About 5 days | Nothing can be done. The domain is queued for release and cannot be restored, by us or anyone. |
| Released | After pending delete | The domain returns to the open market. Anyone can register it — often within seconds, if it has value. We cannot promise you will get it back. |
Exact windows are set by each registry, not by us, and differ between TLDs. Your domain's own page shows its real dates.
Fees
Renewal prices are on every domain page and in the full price list. Restore-from-redemption fees are set by the registry and vary widely by TLD.
Before launch: publish the per-TLD restore fee table here, sourced from the registrar price sheet (we already sync wholesale pricing nightly).
Auto-renew
Auto-renew is on by default because lapsed domains are the most expensive mistake in this industry. You can turn it off on any domain — we will warn you what that means, then respect your choice. If a renewal payment fails we retry and email you on an escalating schedule before the domain lapses.
